Data you provide directly
- Newsletter signup: Email address and, optionally, first name. Collected when you subscribe to the Weekly Knack newsletter via our signup forms.
- Contact form: Name, email address, and message content. Collected when you submit our contact form.
Data collected automatically
- Analytics data: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data, including pages visited, time on site, device type, browser, approximate geographic location (country/region level), and referral source. GA4 uses first-party cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information when configured as we have done (IP anonymization enabled).

Data collected by third parties
- Amazon Associates: When you click an affiliate link, Amazon may set cookies on your device to track the referral. Amazon’s data collection is governed by Amazon’s Privacy Notice. We do not have access to your Amazon purchase data — we only receive aggregated commission reports.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
Data Retention
- Newsletter subscribers: Your email is stored until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
- Contact form submissions: Stored for up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics retains data for 14 months (our configured retention period), after which it is automatically deleted.
